Holiday Cheer & Cocktails With Drizly

The holiday season is filled with lots of reasons to celebrate. It was an epic year for me: I got married, brought home a puppy, starred in a Dove commercial, ran my fifth NYC Marathon, traveled all over the world, remained healthy, and more. I partnered with Drizly to find a way to celebrate. I decided to host my own get together with some loved ones to celebrate an early Christmas and our 6-month wedding anniversary. The holiday season can be overwhelming with the abundance of office parties, get-togethers, and dinners but I couldn’t leave town to meet my real family without celebrating with my NYC family. I’m no Martha Stewart, but one of the main benefits of hosting is that I can to control what we eat and drink. Y7: Yoga For The Hip Hop Lover

Y7 is one of those yoga studios that makes me wish I had come up with the idea. It combines my two passions, music and fitness. So duh, why didn’t I think of that? For those who don’t know, my grown-up job is working in the music business. Y7 is candle-lit, hot vinyasa yoga choreographed to hip hop. The studio was first established in 2013 and since then has expanded to six locations primarily in NYC and one in West Hollywood. Although not scientifically proven, I believe that word about the studio is spreading thanks to Instagram. I learned about Y7 on Instagram. It’s the most wonderful time of year. The Rockefeller Tree is up, store windows are decorated, lights are sparkling, and tis the season of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. I have to admit that I once used to watch the show regularly and wanted to be an Angel. But mine was the time of Giselle B√ľndchen, Heidi Klum, and the ultimate Angel, Tyra Banks. Back then, being a model meant that you were on the cover of a magazine or walked the runway once a season. You didn’t see them every day. Now in the age of social media, girls are hit-over-the head with images of perfection and self-enhancing filters on the regular. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a young girl today.
