THE ASICS GEL-FIT SANA

It’s Day 4 of My 12 Favorite Things and it wouldn’t be a proper Lean Girls Club giveaway without Asics. 2014 has been an amazing year for me having run the TCS NYC Marathon with Team Asics and their blogger team. As someone who couldn’t run a mile, it’s an incredible joy and honor to be representing the premiere running and fitness brand. One of the things I love about running is the camaraderie and community that runners share. Asics is committed to supporting that community and building the sport of running. They’ve been incredibly supportive of me this year and they truly are one of my favorite shoes and brands. While I have many Asics shoes, I’m really loving the GEL-FIT SANA these days. They’re a great training shoe, and even lighter than the GEL-Lyte 33. They can even be rocked on the streets with a great pair of skinny jeans.

Hi! I’m size 8 and if I win I’d like the teal and dark blue shoes. πŸ™‚ One of my proudest moments this year was finishing a mountain biking ride that lasted 4 hours over a variety of terrains including complete mud. I was so proud that I didn’t give up and managed to only step in a mud puddle once!

    • @disqus_kF3T3o1Qpa:disqus – while I’m sorry you didn’t win, I just wanted to congratulate you on an amazing accomplishment. While I can run for 4 hours, I’m not sure I could bike for that long. Hope you are encouraged to continue riding and even pursue more rides!

  • Miranda Lewis

I’m an 8.5 wide and I love the pink! This year I completed my first half marathon!

    • @disqus_MTVzQjHQhl:disqus – while i’m sorry you didn’t win the Asics giveaway, I just wanted to congratulate you on completing your first half marathon. I will never forget my first Half, the Cincinnati Flying Pig half marathon, and it’s what got me hooked on all this racing hoopla. I can’t wait to hear about all the races in your future. Keep up the running!

  • I’m a size 9, and I love the pink shoes! This year I achieved a PR in the 5K distance, dropping my time by 4:30 back in 2011.

    • @jesstg:disqus, while I’m sorry to say that you didn’t win the Asics giveaway, I just wanted to congratulate you in setting your PR. That is a HUGE drop and accomplishment. I hope you are encouraged and pumped for more 5ks in 2015.

  • Maribeth

I pushed myself to run faster leading to more PRs with my 5k, 10k and Half-marathon. I did the 9+1 with NYRR to qualify for the 2015 Marathon! I loved following you on your journey to the 2014 NYC Marathon. It must have been an incredible experience, especially with Asics. I’m a size 9 πŸ™‚

    • Maribeth

I forgot about the color–the teal/dark blue shoes are the cutest!

    • @disqus_WVNyKZVDVf:disqus – thanks for the kind words. While I’m sorry that you did not win the Asics giveaway, i just wanted to congratulate you on qualifying for the 2015 NYC Marathon. You and I know how much the NYC Marathon means to me, and how much running has changed my life…I can’t WAIT to hear about your amazing experience in 2015. Trust me, it WILL be an amazing experience. You’ll cheer, you’ll cry, you’ll grit your teeth…but it will all be worth it. Please be sure to keep me in the loop with your training and more.

  • Ken C

I ran a 5K in under 25 minutes. Looking for a Women’s 7 1/2 – Purplr/Pink for my 12 year old daughter who has started running with my wife and I

    • @disqus_hpZuALk9Vh:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you didn’t win the Asics giveaway, 1. I love that you entered for your daughter. You are an awesome dad! 2. I also wanted to congratulate you on your 5k time. I hope you are encouraged to run more races in 2015!

  • Megan Wood

I would pick the Gel Fit Sana for my Mom. She was actually the “legal” winner of my contest from last week (of 1600 entries!) but I felt wrong so I disqualified her (if you ever meet her, please never let her know this!). I love the look of the Gel Fit Sana, they are so pretty. The hot pink, white and grape color is awesome and she would love them (size 6.5).

    • @meganwood:disqus – always a hard call…especially when your mom enters. Sadly you didn’t win the Asics giveaway, but hopefully mom will get shoes from Santa this year πŸ™‚

  • Ruth Christensen

Did the Fight for Air Climb with the American Lung Assoc! Like the women’s size 7 1/2 Pink/Grape for my dear daughter.

    • @ruthchristensen:disqus – sorry to say that you did not win the Asics giveaway, but I wanted to congratulate you for completing the Air Climb. That is one fitness adventure I haven’t tackled yet…but one day, will. Scares me a little, but looking forward to it.

  • Wendy

I would say my eating habits have gotten much better (tons more veggies and fruits!). I used to avoid fruits b/c sugar calories, but now I know that makes no sense, and it’s much better eating real foods rather than chips (which is what I used to do, not eat fruits so I could eat junk! -___-)

Love the navy, white, and hot pink ones in 7s! πŸ™‚

    • @disqus_PCNdhKyxJV:disqus – sorry to say that you did not win the Asics giveaway, but I wanted to congratulate you on eating better and incorporating more veggies and fruits in your diet. Food is not the enemy, which is something I had to learn as well. I do enjoy the occasional bag of chips, but know that my body will feel so much better for feeding it natural foods. I hope your body continues to thank you for feeding it nourishing foods in 2015.

  • Trisha Hughes

I think the best thing I did this year was FINALLY get myself back into an exercise routine after being off & on for the last two years since we moved here. I joined a fun gym, started some classes & found a fun group of girls to lift with.

    I’m an 8.5-9 & I like the navy, teal & white ones! πŸ˜‰

    • @trishahughes:disqus – I’m sorry to say that you are not the winner of the Asics giveaway, but I wanted to congratulate you on getting yourself back into an exercise routine. Besides the fact that you are in a new town, I admire how you make time for yourself with a husband, four kids, and a thriving blog and foot photography venture. You are just absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see where it all takes you!

  • Justine

Depending on the shoes, I can be size 7, 7.5, or 8. Ooh, I can’t pick a color right now. I love the ombre effect and the bright colors, but it’s so easy just to stick with black. This year, I started blending green smoothies at home and coaxed my Mr. into drinking them with me.

    • @disqus_poLBbjb7i5:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you did not win the Asics giveaway, i just wanted to congratulate your accomplishment this year. I LOVE my green smoothies, and it’s an even bigger accomplishment if the Mr is drinking them too. I personally love adding unsweetened vanilla almond milk in mine. It tricks the tastebuds into think it’s a sweet milkshake.

  • Annmarie L

Great giveaway πŸ™‚ I like the pink/purple in the 7’s! My biggest accomplishment this year was running my first half marathon! Training for my second in March soon!

    • @annmarie_l:disqus – while i’m worry to inform you that you are not the Asics giveaway winner, i just wanted to congratulate you on completing your first half marathon! That’s huge accomplishment and I hope you’re still wearing your medal πŸ™‚ Good luck training for your second…and now that you’re hooked, we’ll have to meet somewhere for a Half. I can’t wait to hear about all the races in your future. Congrats runner!

  • Rebecca P.

I started running after more than 10 years!

    • @disqus_2hWKJSFNCY:disqus – while I’m sorry to inform you that you are not the Asics winner, I wanted to congratulate you on starting to run after more than 10 years. I hope it was a good enough run to make you want to stick with it. Running has truly changed my life, and I’m now hooked. Thank you for entering and hope to see you around on Lean Girls Club again.

  • Wanda P.

This is the first year my boyfriend and I embarked on a health and fitness journey together. We have worked out together at the gym 3-4 times a week over the past eight months! I would like the petal pink/white/fuschia in size 8. Thank you.

    • @disqus_c3J5oro7OZ:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you did not win the Asics giveaway, I just wanted to share in your excitement about embarking on your health/fitness journey. I have no doubt that you’ve seen so many changes and benefits to your life…and the life of your boyfriend’s. My journey started 8 years ago and it’s literally changed my life. There are so many great things ahead of you, and hope that you’ll share them with me. Thanks for reading LGC.

  • Jordan Dunne

I am loving all of the shoe colors, but since I already have pair of pink shoes, I think I like the navy blue/white/pink sneakers. I wear a size 7. This year I’ve refocused my health goals to gaining healthy weight and building muscle, and it’s paid off so far!

    • @jordandunne:disqus – while I’m sorry you are not the winner of the Asics giveaway, I wanted to congratulate you on your year of healthy goals. I think people often think that health/fitness only means weight loss. Sometimes becoming healthy means gaining and adding muscle. It doesn’t always mean deprivation as you said. Kudos to you. I have no doubt that your body is responding positively. Cheers to an even healthier 2015. Thanks for reading LGC.

  • Elle

I love the navy/white/hot pink combo. I’d love a size 10.5 and I am proud that I didn’t stop jogging just because it started getting cold. I love exercising outdoors (can’t stand indoor treadmill) but it takes a lot to get out there when it’s freezing out but I’ve been keeping it up and once you’re out there for 20 minutes or so, you warm up and don’t even realize it.
    prettyinhotpink6 at gmail dot com

    • @disqus_yFTfvpMEpn:disqus – while i’m sorry to say that you did not win the Asics giveaway, I just wanted to congratulate you on continuing to jog in the cold. I love running outdoors too, even in the cold, but I have to admit that it’s been a bit challenging this winter. Seriously, kudos to you. Just beware of the black ice – yikes! πŸ™‚ Cheers to many more runs in 2015 and thank you for reading LGC.

  • tweetyscute

I would pick the black shoe in size 8. I started a clean diet and have start a workout routine

    • @disqus_SpJvWw3Qku:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you are not the Asics giveaway winner, I just wanted to congratulate you on starting a clean diet and workout routine. Cheers to a healthier 2015 and thank you for reading LGC.

  • Birdiebee

I would choose the women’s Navy/White/Hot Pink shoe in a size 10. I started eating healthier, cutting out carbs, started water exercise and lost 15 lbs. after losing my brother to a young age this summer. I continue to work on getting healthier.

    • @disqus_4SGd08ogQ4:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you are not the winner of the Asics giveaway, I wanted to congratulate you on your 15 pound weight loss and all the steps you took towards a healthier you. My deepest condolences for your loss. While many, including myself, would have been debilitated from the loss, I love that you made it something positive. We could all learn from you. • @cezovski:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you are not the Asics giveaway winner, I just wanted to congratulate you on incorporating these healthy habits into your life. While they may seem small, they’re not. Extra steps and adding water make big changes. • Carla S

I would want the navy/white/hot pink in size 8.5.I like the pink ones you have too. It’s so hard to decide. Thanks for the giveaway πŸ™‚

  • Such an awesome giveaway! These shoes would be perfect for my gym workouts and I LOVE the pink ones (in an 8.5) in this blog! One of my accomplishments this year: becoming acclimated to running at altitude and scoring a few PR’s!

    • @Lisa_earlymorningrun:disqus – while i’m sorry to say that you’re not the Asics giveaway winner, I just wanted to congratulate you on your 2014 accomplishments. That Denver altitude is no joke…and the fact that you were able to lock in a new PR is AMAZING! Can’t wait to see what amazing, fit things you do in 2015.

  • usnamom2014

Love the navy ones in size 8 – I’ve lost 13 lbs and 7% body fat since joining a gym in July of this year.

    • @usnamom2014:disqus – while I’m sorry to say that you are not the Asics giveaway winner, i just wanted to congratulate you on your accomplishments and weightless. 13 pounds and 7% body fat lost in six months is AMAZING. 13 pounds is actually 52 pounds of pressure off your knees, and I can only imagine how much your cardiovascular health has improved. Seriously, amazing! Keep it up and cheers to a fit 2015!

  • Fluffy Healthy

I am a size 10 πŸ™‚ would love the pink petal/white/fuschia color! One healthy thing I did was go to the gym as much as I could πŸ™‚ I’m trying to lose weight so I’m trying to be consistant πŸ™‚

    • @fluffyhealthy:disqus – while i’m sorry to say that you are not the Asics giveaway winner, I just wanted to congratulate you adding more trips to the gym. The gym isn’t always the most fun place, even for me, but the fact that you are taking steps to a healthier you is amazing. Your body and mind will thank you for it! I hope you have been seeing and experiencing the benefits of exercise already! Kudos to you and cheers to a healthier 2015!

  • One health/fit thing that I did in 2014 that I’m proud of is I ran my first marathon (the Bank of America Chicago Marathon). Although, I was injured throughout training, I was determined to run the race because I had already paid for it. I’m so happy I crossed that finish line on October 12, 2014 and I can’t wait to run another marathon next year.

My shoe size is size 11 and I love the Hot Pink/White/Grape colour.

    Thanks for this giveaway πŸ™‚

    -Agnes

    • @AggieRuns:disqus – while I’m sorry you are not the Asics giveaway, i wanted to congratulate you on training and finishing the Chicago Marathon. That is a huge accomplishment, and the fact that you even overcame an injury is amazing. You nearly made me cry πŸ˜‰ Chicago is on my list of races I need to run before I die. Love the city and you know how much I love running. Hope to see you one day at a race!

      • Thanks Grace πŸ™‚ Running the race was very emotional for me because I was in so much physical pain and I wished that I wasn’t injured. You would love running the Chicago marathon.

It would be great to meet you one day and run a race together. I have my eye on running a Rock n’ Roll race soon.

    • @paigecallahan:disqus – I’m sorry to say that you are not the winner of the Asics giveaway, but I hope that won’t stop you from running your first half with your mom. I love running half marathons, and hope you have an amazing experience training and crossing that finish line. Please do let me know if you sign up for one and run it. I want to hear all about it! Which race are you thinking of?

  • Lisa Nolan

Running shoe size is an 8.5 and I would go with the Navy, White, Hot Pink! This year I’ve made a lot of changes, but the key takeaway for me is that I have been consistent and made them into more of a habit. From nutrition to exercising several days a week, drinking water, and to running five miles at my best pace yet last week! All the little changes grow into huge life change. It’s so exciting. Thank you for holding this raffle! πŸ™‚

    • @disqus_gTE6iJlnmI:disqus – while i’m sorry to say that you are not the winner of the Asics giveaway, I just wanted to share how encouraged I am by all the changes you’ve made in your life. Incorporating one would have been a big accomplishment, but you’ve added so many healthy habits to your life. i know your body and health will thank you for it. I’ve been making an extra effort to drink more water. I drink enough compared to the average person, but I’m being super conscientious about it. I’m already noticing the difference – hydration makes a huge difference!

      • Lisa Nolan

Thank you! It does make a difference. My body can definitely tell when it hasn’t had enough! I hope you and yours have a lovely Christmas and New Year season.

Cheers to an even healthier 2015!

    • @troxel317:disqus – sorry to say that you’re not the winner of the Asics giveaway, but I just wanted to congratulate you for adding yoga into your routine. • Serena Powell

    Size: 8.5

    Color: Navy/White/Hot Pink

I went to DC and made it my mission to walk everywhere I could. I managed to get over 30 miles in, in 4 days. That might not seem like a lot to some people, but I’m a pretty stationary person, so for me it was a ton.

    serenap95(at)hotmail(dot)com

    • @serena_powell:disqus – I’m sorry to say that you’re not the Asics giveaway, but wanted to give you a big round of applause for walking that much! 30 miles is no joke!!! I’m loving reading about everyone’s fantastic accomplishments in 2014! Healthy things I accomplished this past year include continuing to lose weight (10+ #s in the past year, continuing an overall 40 # wt loss!), incorporating exercise into my busy life approximately 4 days/week, taking up running again (and starting to love it again), going on a backpacking/camping trip, and climbing my first mountain!

The navy shoes in size 9 would be great to try out on my runs, plus fun to wear around town. πŸ™‚

    • @disqus_gNJMQ9eTcO:disqus – I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s accomplishments as well. Almost brought me to tears reading how many people’s lives have been changed by running, healthy habits, exercise, etc. i’m sorry to say that you’re not the Asics giveaway winner, but I wanted to congratulate you in all your accomplishments. Weightloss is never easy and the fact that you continue to lose and maintain is something to be celebrated and praised. That camping trip and climb sound amazing as well. Kudos to you, Lean Girl!
