2014: Say Goodbye to Your Old Self
Happy New Year, Lean Girls! Many of you have resolved to be healthier in 2014. Perhaps “healthier” means losing weight, or drinking less, or letting go of toxic thoughts about others (or yourself). Whatever it is, congrats. Your old self is on her way out, making room for a happier, healthier you.
I tried a lot of fad diets, cleanses, and pills but they all failed. The scale didn’t move.
I realized I was torturing my body with the different diets-of-the-week. I didn’t fuel my body with healing and nourishing foods. I didn’t speak kindly about my body. I worked out for hours. And my body rebelled.
The scale started to move when I changed my attitude towards myself and started to believe that I was deserving of better.
I deserve the best.
I deserve the best, most nourishing foods.
I deserve to feel great during work outs, not punished.
I deserve to be spoken with kindness and respect, not bullied.
I definitely have forgotten this over the holidays. Over the next few days I will be sharing my eating and exercising plan to return to my kinder, leaner self. I will be going through a “detox” to kickstart my return to my kinder, leaner lifestyle and sharing my “secrets” along the way.
