Athleisure

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this reflective jacket. One, because it’s warm enough to just wear a jacket this light – it’s as thin as a plastic bag but blocks the wind. Two, because it lights up! I often run at night and until now I haven’t had anything to alert cars and bikes to look out for me. It’s a big safety no-no, I know.

In other news, I’m wrapping my first week at the new job so I’m remembering what it’s like to be excited for the weekend. I plan on spending my entire weekend in athleisure wear after a week of high heels. I find that when I’m in athleisure gear, I’m more likely to work out. Women ask if I went or are planning to go to the gym, and that little bit of “guilt” gets me moving.

Happy Friday, Weekend Warriors! What do you have planned for the weekend? Hopefully something healthy!

  • I’m actually going to head out for a run for the first time since the NYCHalf. However it’s supposed to rain, so most likely I will be on the treadmill, but it’s better than nothing.

    • @kyannasimone:disqus – a little rain didn’t hurt anyone, right? I’m hoping that the forecast is wrong and that there’s a break in there somewhere to run outside…cuz it’s supposed to be fairly warm here in NYC 🙂

  • I wear athleisure wear every weekend – it’s my weekend wardrobe staple. Only when we go out to dinner or are heading to some other function where it’s not really appropriate, do I change into something else! Even if I’ve already gone for a run in the morning, I just feel more inclined to go for a walk or be active in some way if I’m wearing clothes that are easy to move in.

Hope your first week was great!! Is it a more formal office than your last?

    • @Lisa_earlymorningrun:disqus – I’m with you. I could spend every weekend (and every day for that matter) in athleisure wear. The office is the same, just much trendier. Definitely need to step up my wardrobe game!
